Welcome to Canal Guides – a detailed look at the Canals and Rivers of England & Wales. These will be built up over a period of time as we cruise our way along the network.
The aim is to provide a handy resource, which will be of interest to anyone who wants to enjoy our canals. Not just boaters. There will be cruising advice and local information about the towns and villages along the way.
The first waterway to be covered is the Kennet & Avon Canal. A mixture of canalised rivers (the River Kennet in the east, and the River Avon in the west), with a true canal section in the middle.
